The simple formation of the building blocks combined with the simple process of assembling them could engage both children and adults, just like matching puzzles. However, unlike regular three dimensional puzzles, the product encourages creativity on the part of the users by alluring them to make their own sculptural light product in an abstract form. The completed product would be a unique light product designed by the user, which could be used as a form of personalized furniture or decorative object. When connecting the blocks to enable illumination, Luxominoes require a basic understanding of the electric circuit that is denoted by the visual symbols on the joints and also indirectly teaches the users to think and learn about three dimensional space. Luxominoes is designed with layers of translucent white acrylic and plywood to reduce the amount of plastic used in construction of the blocks in the interest of environmental sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
