An interactive zen garden responds to the simple repetitive raking task from its participants through an 'auralized landscape'.
Path is a Zen garden generative sound installation, using enabling technologies that respond to the raking motions of its participant. As sand is raked leaving traces, sounds emerge in relationship to patterns, stone locations, and raking motions. Participants can become sensitive to the types of sounds that co-produce direction and path. By focusing on a simple repetitive raking task in an ‘auralized landscape’ , this installation helps its participant let go of everyday matters, distraction, overload, and stress
