“that they” is a local two player iPad game that explore possibilities of play experience through affordance of tablet device.

You and your partner have to hold on to each other with a ‘soulstring‘ and recover those precious memories before it’s all gone.

Tilting iPad toward each other,
making choices,
dance around together with your iPad and the game in the center.

Derived from all the boardgames we love,
you can’t play this game alone.
Instead, you’ll have to unfold the game’s storyline together with your partner.

To realize,
that they all may be one.

About

Tharit Firm Tothong

Firm Tharit Tothong is a new generation Thai artist who works with a variety of media, including game, sound, electronics, digital media, and installation. Firm received his bachelor’s degree from Department of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University, one of the most well known Design Schools in Bangkok, majoring in interior architecture. Firm began his career at tangerhyne, a workshop he built alongside a few fellow classmates. At this studio, Firm first worked in product design, producing animation, and editorial works for several magazine in Thailand including a day and Computer Arts Thailand.

Due to his continued interest in the interdisciplinary in art and a desire to seek out cross-cultural experience, Firm is currently completing his Graduate Degree in the Design and Technology Department at Parsons School for Design. Influenced by this new cross-cultural experience of Thailand and US Concentrating in the use of new computer technology to explore comparative cultural study through visual related medias via game, sound, robotics and interactive installations.

Peng Paul Cheng

Peng Cheng is a new generation Chinese artist who works with a variety of media, including game, toy, electronics, digital media, and installation. Peng received his bachelor’s degree from Raffles Design Institute, one of the most well known Art Schools in Shanghai, majoring in interactive design. Peng began his career at 11 Individual Studios, a workshop he built alongside a few fellow classmates. At this studio, Peng first worked in commercial design, producing video for several companies including Fuji.

After Graduation in 2007, Peng joined what was then a start-up company Tudou. As one of the first designers, he participated in large part of the design work. The following year, he was promoted and became one of Tudou’s ad designers, which entailed producing and hosting a battery of ad-oriented website content for Tudou. It was also in 2007 that he was awarded “Best Employee at Tudou.”
