My thesis is focused on developing a technology framework that supports the creation of personalized control surfaces. These surfaces could be used for multimedia software, installations, games, or any other scenario where the user may desire a unique hardware interface.
Commercial products are unable to offer customized solution because they must adhere to the conventions of assembly line mass production. My technology framework offers a DIY alternative to this already established commercial market by allowing the user to design and build his/her own controller.
The framework makes custom controllers accessible to anyone, even those less tech-savvy. This is achieved through the development of a web app, custom circuit boards, pre-written code, plug and play modules, and a well documented step-by-step guide.
